Former president attacked the Brazilian voting machine system
For 51% of Brazilian voters interviewed by Datafolha, former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) should be condemned for his campaign against electronic voting machines and become ineligible for eight years, as provided for by law. Another 45% believe he is innocent and should not be punished by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE).
The 51% of respondents who defend Bolsonaro’s ineligibility, heard on March 29 and 30, believe that the loss of political rights is the most correct punishment for the former president. This is because Bolsonaro tried several times to discredit the Brazilian electoral system.
However, another 45% argue that Bolsonaro should be released by the Electoral Justice to contest the next elections.
Of the 2,028 people interviewed by Datafolha, 4% of the interviewees were unable to evaluate the stimulated question. The poll’s margin of error is plus or minus two percentage points.
