7. Night Flight
 
Directed by Wes Craven, Night flight tells the story of a hotel manager who, while taking a plane at dawn after visiting her father, meets a young man who, at first glance, seems normal. However, he soon reveals himself to be a terrorist and that he needs her to carry out his plans.
Murphy takes on the role of this international criminal, while the young manager is played by actress Rachel McAdams (Doctor Strange). The film was well received by critics and helped to show more of the actor’s work in the USA, after having participated in productions in the United Kingdom.

6. Batman Begins
 
Batman Begins it was Cillian Murphy’s first major production in Hollywood. After almost being chosen to play Bruce Wayne, the actor was called by Christopher Nolan to play Doctor Jonathan Crane, the Scarecrow, one of the villains of the feature.
Murphy proves to be a great opponent in the role of the villain, in addition to delivering an impeccable performance. His serious manner and calm speech matched the character very well, creating that scary aura necessary to play the criminal. It was so good that he ended up returning to participate in the next two chapters of the trilogy.

5. A Quiet Place 2
 
After the success of the first film, A Quiet Place 2 went into production with Cillian Murphy as one of the lead actors, alongside Emily Blunt (The devil Wears Prada). Playing an old family friend of Blunt’s character, the actor received praise for portraying a representation of what became of humanity after the alien attack in the first film.

Murphy’s character is the target of the group, who get into his conscience and try to plant an idea instead of stealing it.

3. Extermination
 
Responsible for showing Cillian Murphy to the world, exterminationby director Danny Boyle (Sunshine), is an excellent film about a world devastated by a virus that considerably increases the aggressiveness of those infected. Murphy plays a delivery man who has an accident, is in a coma for 28 days and, when he wakes up, finds a post-apocalyptic world.
Struggling to understand what happened, he joins survivors in their search for safety amidst the chaos. The film received a sequel a few years later, without the actor, who has already shown a desire to return to the franchise if Danny Boyle wants to.
2. Oppenheimer
 
Once again working with Christopher Nolan, this time Cillian Murphy is the star of the biopic Oppenheimer, a film that tells the life and dilemmas of the American physicist known for directing the project to create the atomic bomb. The feature film, which still shows the post-Second World War period, presents how the use of weapons affected J. Robert Oppenheimer’s position in relation to technological advances in warfare.
Alongside a star-studded cast, with names like Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr (Avengers: Endgame) and Matt Damon (Eleven men and a secret), Murphy manages to stand out, essentially carrying the film on his shoulders with his performance.
1. Peaky Blinders
 
Despite being a well-known face to the public due to his work in cinema, he starred in the TV series peaky blinders that Cillian Murphy became really famous. The series, which follows the business of a family of criminals in post-World War I England, ran for six seasons, with a seventh being turned into a movie for theaters, which still does not have a premiere date.
In the role of Thomas Shelby, the head of the family, Murphy ended up becoming, alongside Bryan Cranston (breaking bad) and his Walter White, as one of the faces of characters who are far from being heroes, but who still captivate the public’s attention.
