Of the ‘forgotten’ BRL 6 billion, a single legal entity has already requested the redemption of BRL 3.29 million — equivalent to 5.7% of the total.
The Central Bank reopened the consultation to the Receivable Values System (SVR), after 11 months, allowing the withdrawal of ‘forgotten’ values in bank accounts since March 7th. According to the municipality, about 38 million accounts of individuals and 2 million companies have balances to withdraw.
Of the ‘forgotten’ BRL 6 billion, a single legal entity has already requested the redemption of BRL 3.29 million — equivalent to 5.7% of the total. This case is part of 1.37% of the total accounts that have values above R$ 1 thousand, as detailed by BACEN, while 62.55% have less than R$ 10 to be recovered.
The values refer to amounts that remained in banks, financial institutions and cooperatives. Among the main examples are: money forgotten in closed savings or checking accounts, fees charged improperly and balances available to former members of credit unions or consortium groups that have already closed.
Nearly 4.8 million people redeemed forgotten money
This Monday (10), the Central Bank reported that, in just over a month after the reopening of the SVR platform, almost 4.8 million people requested the redemption of R$ 342.2 million. The balance considers all orders placed from March 7th to last Sunday (9th).
According to BACEN, the amount of BRL 3.29 million redeemed by the company mentioned above was the largest withdrawal made individually, while the largest amount redeemed by an individual was BRL 749.5 thousand.
