Adani Foundation opens world’s first center of excellence in Metaverse

The Adani Foundation Skills Development Branch has marked a major milestone by entering the metaverse as the world’s first center of excellence.

The Adani Skill Development Center (ASDC) or Adani Saksham, now seven years old since its inception on May 16, 2016, has started its Metaverse journey with two courses.

The non-profit company, which aims to educate the youth of India and help build the nation, said the milestone advances its mission to use cutting-edge technology to train future-ready professionals.

“With Metaverse, ASDC enters an exciting phase where knowledge, skills and technology converge to create an immersive educational experience through virtual classrooms,” the company said in a press release.

ASDC has prioritized courses such as General Duty Assistant in Support of the Health and Hospital Sectors and Fire Safety in the Metaverse, it said, adding that more courses would be added in due course.

“This is groundbreaking and gives trainees a deep understanding of their chosen field that goes well beyond the limitations of a physical space. Learners at 40 Adani Skill Development Centers in 13 states of India can enroll in these courses in Metaverse,” ASDC said.

The company will also make the courses available worldwide so anyone can enroll using a computer.

The Adani Foundation is the collaborative support and engagement arm of the Adani Group dedicated to making strategic social investments to achieve sustainable results across India. The company operates in 5,753 villages in 19 states.
