Advisor to the president of Anvisa is convicted of rape and arrested at the agency

Lawyer Paulo Cesar do Nascimento Silva, special adviser to the president of the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa), was arrested on Monday the 12th inside the agency’s headquarters after being convicted of rape. He was dismissed from office on Tuesday, 13.

In a note to the newspaper Folha de S. PauloAnvisa claimed to have collaborated with the police officers who carried out the arrest and claimed to be unaware of the accusations. According to the agency, the rape happened before Silva became an advisor to Antonio Barra Torres.
