American Idol winner is going through tough times

The performer, who is known for winning Season 18 of the popular singing competition show, announced she’s back where she started before appearing on the FOX TV show. To make ends meet, Diaz sang on subways and on street corners.

The 24-year-old Harlem native shared the news on her new social media channels, and while she was initially “super embarrassed” to be back in this position, she had no choice. They “really needed the money,” and it was longer “optional” not to work on the street.

Only Sam has trouble digesting it all

It’s been revealed to Sam that they’ve “fallen so low” since winning Idol. It started when they were battling an unknown illness last summer. Diaz shared on IG Story that “they have so much more to reveal, but there isn’t much they can say.”

The message continued. “I promise I’ll say more very soon. At the moment I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has my back. Thank you to the people who show me nothing but love and support. THANK YOU ALL FOR THE PATIENCE!!!! It is needed and appreciated.”

Despite the drastic turn Diaz’s life has taken, they manage to speak positively and share it with their followers. “I woke up with so much love I can’t do anything but cry like a baby and say THANK YOU to everyone. Many many thanks.”

Since they have a sizable following on IG, they use it to garner attention, announce where they can be found singing that day, and even share some videos of their subway singing sessions.

Diaz said they don’t typically publicize their CashApp, allowing those who wish to donate to visit them. Sam said it’s because they already feel bad asking others for help after winning such a large sum.

What happened to the money, only Sam?

We’re all dying to know what happened to the incredible $250,000 payout, record deal and mentorship. Diaz didn’t share that information, but as previously mentioned, they had fallen ill.

We could assume that the money was used for hospital bills. Diaz left his followers a friendly message. “Watch the Lord turn the whole thing around and watch as I KEEP GIVING GOD ALL THE GLORY! There are things that God will do for me that no one else can do or prevent. I have so much confidence 11!!”
