Ax attack on regional train, 17-year-old seriously injured

Guben–A 37-year-old man threatened passengers on a regional train from Cottbus to Frankfurt (Oder) on Friday afternoon and injured a young person with an ax-like object. This was reported by a spokesman for the South Police Department. The police stopped the train at the train station in Guben (Spree-Neisse district) and arrested the suspect, who was a Polish citizen.

A 17-year-old on the train was probably seriously injured by the man. She came to the hospital. According to the first findings, there is no danger to life, said the spokesman. So far, the police have not been able to provide any further information about the background and the course of the crime.
