Maybe you have Barbie Blame it on not being able to get pink paint at your local hardware store recently.

The live action movie with Margot Robbie And Ryan Gosling features a set that is always all pink.

director Greta Gerwig spoke in a recent interview about the set’s construction, specifically Barbie’s legendary dream house.

“I wanted to capture what’s so hilariously funny about the Dreamhouses,” she said Architectural Digest.

“Preserving ‘childhood’ was paramount,” she added. “I wanted the pink tones to be very light and make everything seem almost too much.”

production designer Sarah Greenwood chimed in, saying that “the world was running out of pink” as they rushed to create hand-painted sets that brought the fantasy world to life.

Fans don’t have to wait long to see the pink Dreamhouse. Barbie will premiere in theaters on July 21. Click play at the bottom of the trailer!
