The 33-year-old singer admitted she’s been struggling after noticing the trending search bar in the comments section of a TikTok video saying “bebe rexha weight.”
She tweeted: “Seeing this search bar is so annoying.
“I’m not mad because it’s true. I’ve gained weight. But it just sucks. Thanks to all the people who love me no matter what.”
Fans quickly rallied behind her, and her followers flooded the post with compliments and support.
One fan wrote: “Weight shouldn’t be anyone’s business unless it’s their own. I don’t understand the obsession with other people’s bodies.
“You can gain or lose as much weight as you want and I still think you’re one of the sexiest women out there.”
Another fan added, “I don’t know if we’ll ever get to a point as a society where people just learn to have basic decency and stop pointing out or criticizing other people’s weight/body, but I really wish that one day we will get there. You are beautiful, Miss Bebe!”
It’s not the first time the ‘I’m Good’ hitmaker has opened up about her body image and how her confidence can be affected by her changing weight.
Back in 2021, she said on TikTok, “So it’s the holidays and I know we should all be happy and say, ‘Woo-hoo, it’s the holidays,’ which I am…ish.
“I think I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been. I just weighed myself and I don’t feel comfortable sharing the weight because I’m embarrassed.
“It’s not just about that. I just feel gross, you know, like in my own body.”
She noted that the way she felt about her looks meant she needed a break from the world of social media.
She added at the time: “I haven’t posted as much because I don’t feel good in my skin and when I don’t feel good I don’t want to post and that’s really why I did it. I haven’t posted as much as I used to in the last year.
“I think all that positive posture that comes from me is probably a place of hurt and confusion. I no longer know how to help myself or love myself.”
