Brits share their most embarrassing gut-related moments – such as B. No wind in public

Brits have revealed their worst tummy-related moments – including bloating in public, gurgling loudly in a job interview and leaving a public toilet smelly. A survey of 2,000 adults found that up to 79 percent suffered from embarrassing stomach problems.

And nearly three-quarters (73 percent) experience symptoms like gas, constipation, and diarrhea at least one day a week—that’s seven weeks a year.

It found that over half (54%) find gut health confusing – while two-fifths (39%) don’t know which foods are good for their digestion, and 43% have no idea the key role fiber plays.

Given the lack of awareness of gut health, registered nutritionist Rhiannon Lambert, who works with California Almonds, which commissioned the study, said, “Knowing the right foods is an easy first step in treating these uncomfortable symptoms, and research shows that.” Fiber- Rich foods like almonds can support a healthy gut.”

The research also found that more than a third (38 percent) don’t know these can indicate poor gut health, although many of them suffer from digestive problems, and only one in five think the symptoms are a health concern.

Only three in ten would see a dietician after an embarrassing stomach incident and only 27 percent would see a doctor.

The most common excuses include that gut health isn’t a major concern (51 percent), that they believe their symptoms are normal (35 percent), and that they don’t want to waste the doctor’s time (28 percent).

Instead, more than two-thirds (69 percent) would choose to self-medicate by changing their diet (56 percent), drinking more water (50 percent) and taking over-the-counter medications (46 percent).

Popular TikTok “remedies” that many are keen to try include charcoal supplements, ginger shots, and lemon water, according to OnePoll stats.

Rhiannon Lambert added, “Our gut health is certainly something we shouldn’t overlook – taking care of it not only helps with our digestion but our overall well-being and can even prevent more serious diseases like colon cancer and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) down the road.” the whole line.
