A Muslim man was reportedly beaten to death by self-proclaimed cow protectors in Karnataka on Saturday. The accused Puneet Kerehalli is said to have stopped the cattle dealer Idris Pasha during a cattle transport in the afternoon. Idris reportedly provided papers from the cattle market but Puneet demanded Rs 2 lakh and beat him along with his staff when he refused to pay.
Idris Pasha’s body was found along a road in Sathnur village in Ramanagara district of Karnataka.

Police have opened a case of murder, wrongful restraint and intentional insult with intent to provoke a breach of the peace.
The area is in the constituency of Congress President DK Shivakumar.
