Chicago shooting: Pizza delivery man killed in armed robbery in Auburn Gresham, a source says

CHICAGO (WLS) — A 41-year-old man was shot dead in an armed robbery in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood on Friday morning, Chicago Police Department said.

According to a source, the man was delivering pizza.

Officers responded to the 7800 block of South Laflin Street around 2:24 a.m. and found the victim in a vehicle with wounds to his back and face, police said.

The victim was taken to Advocate Christ Hospital, where his death was determined, police said.

As of this writing, it’s unclear if anything was stolen or if the driver was lured into the area with a view to robbing him at gunpoint. At some point during the robbery, the car the victim was in hit a post in the alley and crashed into it.

No one is in custody and Area Two investigators are investigating.
