Chicago shooting today: At least three gunshots, including a child, on the Near West Side

CHICAGO (WLS) — At least three people, including a child, were shot dead on the city’s Near West Side, according to Chicago police.

Police said the shooting happened near Oakley and Maypole sometime around 5 p.m. Wednesday.

The circumstances of the shooting were not initially clear.

According to the police, a 52-year-old, a 17-year-old and a child were injured. Further details about the victims, including their gender and whether they knew each other or were in any way related, were not immediately released.

An investigation by the Chicago Police Department is ongoing. It was not immediately known if anyone was in custody for the shooting. Police have not released any information about possible suspects.
