In addition to Pedro Raul, youngsters from the base categories are protagonists of the Cruzmaltina artillery
Last Saturday (20), Vasco lost to São Paulo by 4-2, in a game valid for the seventh round of the Brazilian Championship. Cruzmaltino’s goals were scored by youngsters, who even dominate the team’s artillery from São Januário in the national competition.
Of the eight goals scored by Vasco da Gama in the Brazilian Championship, six came from the feet of youngsters from the base categories. Cruzmaltino’s other two goals in the tournament belong to Pedro Raul, number 9 of the team and, so far, the biggest signing for the team from São Januário for the 2023 season.

The defeat against São Paulo increased the pressure on Vasco and, mainly, on Maurício Barbieri. The coach, who has been suffering harsh criticism, was also the target of protests from fans last Saturday (20). After the negative result against Tricolor, the wall of São Januário appeared with graffiti that asked for the departure of the coach and the owner of SAF Cruzmaltina, Jorge Salgado.
In the midst of another defeat and a sequence of six games without a victory, Maurício Barbieri will have a week free of training to clean up the house and put Vasco back on the path of triumphs. Cruzmaltino’s next appointment will be on Saturday (27), against Fortaleza, in Castelão, at 4 pm (Brasília time).
