Dame Helen Mirren will receive this year’s American Cinematheque Award.
Following in the footsteps of Hollywood stars, Dame Helen Mirren receives the prestigious award for her ‘outstanding’ talent
The Oscar winner will become the third only British star to receive the prestigious award, following in the footsteps of legendary filmmaker Sir Ridley Scott and the late former James Bond, Sir Sean Connery.
It is awarded annually to “an exceptional artist in the entertainment industry who has devoted himself to his work and is committed to making a significant contribution to the art of film”.
The 77-year-old “Good Liar” actress will accept the award on November 4th at the famous Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.

Hollywood stars such as Tom Cruise, John Travolta, Julia Roberts, George Clooney and Samuel L. Jackson have already been honored with the award.
Marvel star Ryan Reynolds was the 2022 award winner.
Mirren has received numerous awards and is the only artist to have achieved both the American and British Triple Crowns of Acting. She received an Oscar and a British Academy Film Award for her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II in The Queen, a Tony Award and a Laurence Olivier Award for her portrayal of the same character in The Audience, and three British Academy Television Awards for her Performance as DCI Jane Tennison in “Prime Suspect,” as well as four Primetime Emmy Awards and a Children’s and Family Emmy Award.
She will next be seen in live-action Barbie alongside Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.
