Sasaram, Bihar:
A court in Rohtas district of Bihar on Thursday sentenced a man to death for raping and murdering a girl.
Additional District and Session Judge Manoj Kumar also fined the convict Rs 76,000, saying his offense was “egregious” and fell into the “rare of rare” category.
According to Additional Prosecutor Vidya Sagar Rai, on June 18, 2009, the victim’s mother had filed an FIR with Kargahar Police Station in the district.
The applicant, a widow, had alleged that the convict had snuck into her home after a sexual assault and alienated her teenage daughter.
