The Nuremberg Ice Tigers have signed another defender in Constantin Braun. As the Franconian club from the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) announced on Sunday, the 35-year-old captain of the relegated Bietigheim Steelers signed a two-year contract in Nuremberg. “Constantin will help us to fill the hole created by the end of Patrick Reimer’s career and Oliver Mebus’ change,” comments Ice Tigers sports director Stefan Ustorf on the future cooperation.

Braun brings the experience of 656 main round and 100 playoff games in Germany’s top division as well as four World Cup appearances for the German national team to Nuremberg. Braun was German champion five times with the Eisbären Berlin. “We can use his experience of five championship titles very well in our dressing room to take the next step in the playoffs,” said Ustorf. This year, the Franks were eliminated in the first playoff round.
