Djokovic regains top spot

Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic returned to the top of the ranking in a new table released this Sunday night by the ATP, the Association of Professional Tennis Players.

Nole did not defend points and kept the 7,160 while the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz discarded 1,000 of the title last year in Miami, but he added 360 of the semi of this edition and dropped to 6780. The Spaniard stayed only two weeks at the top in his second spell at the top.

This is the eighth time that the Serbian occupies the top of the ranking. He adds his 381st week in the lead where he is the record holder.

The third place goes with the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas who is now followed by the Russian Daniil Medvedev who went to 5150 points (scored 1000, defended 180 of the quarterfinals). Norwegian Casper Ruud dropped to fifth place and is now followed by Russian Andrey Rublev. Canadian Felix Aliassime dropped one spot to seventh; the eighth is the Danish Holger Rune which was stable. Deputy in Miami, Jannik Sinner rose two positions and is ninth. American Taylor Fritz is tenth. Semifinalist, Russian Karen Khachanov rose five places and is 11th.

Rafael Nadal lost another position and was in 14th place.
