Elden Ring’s Hidetaka Miyazaki makes the list of the 100 Most Influential People

Time Magazine has published the list of the world’s most influential people of 2023. The magazine named Hidetaka Miyazaki, known for the game Elden Ring, as one of the 100 best people. The purpose of the list is to honor 100 people who changed the world.

Miyazaki and author George RR Martin (Game of Thrones) have teamed up to create the popular game Elden Ring’s World. Aside from Elden Ring, Miyazaki has directed several games at FromSoftware, including Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Dark Souls III, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

Elden Ring breaks multiple records

FromSoftware released Elden Ring for PlayStation 5, PS4, Xbox One, Series X|S and PC via Steam in February 2022. The game quickly gained a huge player base and managed to surpass 12 million units sold worldwide as of March 2022. The game also overtook Call of Duty: Vanguard as the top-selling title in the US in the last 12 months to April 2022.

Elden Ring has won Game of the Year at the DICE Awards, The Game Awards, and the Golden Joystick Awards. The game also managed to win a Grand Award at the PlayStation Partner Awards in December.

How many people play Elden Ring?

Elden Ring has become one of the most popular games, but how many players actually play the game? From Software’s latest title has caused quite a stir among die-hard Souls fans and first-time players alike. Elden Ring has received some rave reviews.

Well, there’s no perfect way to know how many people are playing a game across all platforms. However, Steam charts provide accurate figures for the number of Steam players. According to Steam charts, as of June 7, 2022, Elden Ring had an average of 77,048 players on PC. However, the player base reached 952,523 in March.

Well, these numbers only show the players playing the game on PC and do not show the number of players enjoying the game on console. FromSoftware is yet to announce the game’s exact sales, but some available data offers some insight.

According to Bandai Namco stats, the game sold 13.4 million copies as of March 31, surpassing Cyberpunk 2077. According to GamesIndustry.biz stats, we also know that 41% of copies were purchased on PlayStation, 29% on Xbox, and 30% was purchased on PC.
