Fast X director promises justice for Han thanks to an epic ‘Battle Royale’

In Fast & Furious 6, fan-favorite character Han, who himself debuted on the show in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, was apparently killed in a car explosion by Deckard Shaw. Jason Statham made a surprise cameo appearance in the after-credits scene of this film, setting up the events of Furious 7. Deckard Shaw’s act of revenge came after the Furious Family put Owen Shaw (Luke Evans), Deckard’s brother, in a coma after wreaking havoc across Britain in the sixth film. “F9” shows Han escaping the blast and faking his own death in order to become a secret agent and heal the supposed death of his girlfriend Gisele (Gal Gadot).

Though Deckard Shaw is now on the side of good guys, Han still has open deals with the former enemy in Fast X. During an exclusive preview of Entertainment Weekly, Han is shown arriving at Shaw’s duel with Roman (Tyrese Gibson), Tej (Ludacris) and Ramsey (Nathalie Emmanuel). After Han reaches for one of his trusty snacks in his jacket pocket, the brawl begins. Audiences will be able to see the fight come to an end when Fast X hits theaters on May 19.
