A 56-year-old motorcyclist died in a serious accident in Berlin-Lichterfelde. This was announced by the Berlin police on Friday. According to initial information, the fatal traffic accident occurred on Thursday around 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Osdorfer Straße and the corner of Hildburghauser Straße.
As the police write in a statement, an 87-year-old driver of the VW Golf turned left from Osdorfer Strasse into Hildburghauser Strasse, while the driver of the motorcycle drove on Osdorfer Strasse out of town. The biker crashed into the passenger door of the VW Golf and was thrown onto the road.

The alerted rescue workers of the fire brigade tried to resuscitate the motorcyclist. But the 56-year-old suffered such massive internal injuries in the collision that he died at the scene of the accident. The driver suffered shock and was treated by paramedics.

Osdorfer Straße between Blanckertzweg and Ostpreußendamm was completely closed until around 8.40 p.m. for the accident recording, which also affected regular traffic. The police have taken over the investigation into the exact course of the accident.
