English magazine publishes projection of the new Ford Capri, one of the most emblematic European coupes, which will return as an SUV
Ford announced a few years ago that it would stop manufacturing conventional passenger cars and would dedicate itself only to pickup trucks and SUVs. It was one of several reasons that led the company to close its factory in Brazil. But that doesn’t mean that historical models are dead forever. This is the case with the Ford Capri.
Considered one of the most emblematic European coupes of the 70s and 80s, the Ford Capri was manufactured from the very end of 1968 to 1986. Now the Ford Capri will return in triumph. According to the British magazine Auto Express, the new Capri will be a coupe SUV and will have a shocking design.
The image shown in this report was published on the Auto Express website. This is a projection made by Avarvarii. “We don’t comment on future products, but Ford is on a mission to make the electric iconic,” a Ford spokesperson told Auto Express. Another Ford executive said: “We will be expanding other iconic names.”
According to the English magazine, the new Ford Capri will have an intermediate version of 168 hp with a 55 kWh battery and a range of 350 km. There will also be a 282 hp version, but with a larger battery, 82 kWh, with a range of approximately 530 km.
