In an exclusive interview given to Sports Gazette, Gabriel Menino declared that he was focused on asserting himself once and for all in the team in search of regularity among Palmeiras’ starters. With three goals and an assist in 14 games this year, he’s already enjoying the best start to a season of his career.

Brazilian Team

Gabriel Menino rose to the professional team in 2020 and was soon called up by the Brazilian national team, called by coach Tite in two consecutive calls between September and October of that year. After that, however, the player fluctuated in performance and was left out of the final stretch of the cycle of the last World Cup.

The midfielder from Palmeiras revealed that the dream of defending the Brazilian team is still alive. Thus, he uses the example of names like Weverton, Raphael Veiga and Rony, summoned in the last FIFA date, to wear Amarelinha again.

“The national team for me has always been and will always be my biggest dream. It will always be an honor and a pleasure to wear this wonderful shirt. When you see your teammates go to the national teams, you see a capacity, a special desire to be there” , said the player, who showed confidence to be in the 2026 World Cup.

“For my part, I’m working to return to the Brazilian national team, where I shouldn’t have left. Of course I see myself in the World Cup. I was not there by choice. In 2026 I am sure and totally convinced that I will be there”, said Gabriel Menino.
