Harrison Ford’s Hate Question: Would Indiana Jones or Han Solo Win?

Harrison Ford revealed in a new interview with Esquire magazine that the most common question Star Wars fans ask him is who would win a fight: Han Solo or Indiana Jones? It’s a question that’s sparked a lot of Reddit discussions and social media debate, but it’s not a question Ford ever wants to address.

As Ford said of his fans, “They usually ask me, ‘If there was a fight between Han Solo and Indiana Jones, who would win?’ And I say [voice rising, fingers drumming]’Me, Asshole! I don’t want to fuckin make up shit like that. I mean, why are you asking me to do this crap?’”

Ford has played Indiana Jones in five films, including the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, while his filmography with Han Solo also includes five films, including an uncredited cameo in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker ‘ from 2019. ‘ This film marked the end of his Han solo run, while ‘Dial of Destiny’ will mark the same for Indiana Jones. Despite these iconic characters, Ford often insists to fans that he is Harrison Ford and not Han Solo or Indiana Jones.

“Yes but I’m not Indiana Jones. I’m Harrison Ford- Harry Ford, indeed,” Ford told Esquire magazine.

Ford’s Han solo role came first, but even then he possessed the leading man charisma that would define Indiana Jones.

As Ford’s Star Wars co-star Mark Hamill told Esquire, “I was wide-eyed and inexperienced when Harrison came along, and I’ll tell you – from day one – just like Luke – I looked up to him as someone .” who had a better handle on all the elements than I did. I thought, “This guy is like…” . . Steve McQueen? gary cooper? John Wayne?’ He was an instant icon, and yet the world didn’t know who he was. I was just like, ‘The guy’s a Major.’”

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny hits theaters June 30th from Disney.
