At Record, the news that Fausto Silva left the Band has been seen with good eyes. Channel executives spent the morning discussing the matter and evaluating the chance of a possible contract with the presenter.
Internally, two conclusions have already been reached.
The first: if there is an agreement, it will be on a more modest basis than in Band – read: a salary more in line with the current reality.
The second: once the contract was signed, Fausto would return for the weekends, no daily program as it had been happening.
At the end of last year, Faustão even had conversations with directors at the station, but preferred to remain with Band.
On the Barra Funda station, the matter is restricted only to the high command, not least because there is a sensitive topic at stake: the future of Rodrigo Faro. With Hora do Faro doing poorly in terms of ratings in recent months, Faustão’s return to the track that made him famous would mean having to relocate Faro to a new project and time slot.
Behind the scenes, recently, the relationship between Faro and Record has been shaken. The contract was renewed for a lower salary and, in recent times, the presenter has made it clear to colleagues that he would prefer to just be in front of reality shows. The broadcaster also complained about not seeing him in other shows on the house.
Sought to confirm the negotiation with Fausto Silva, Record did not comment on the matter.
