The star has been open about his battle with skin cancer since he was first diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma in 2013. Since then, the actor has undergone multiple surgeries to remove cancer cells from his skin.

Following a recent medical exam, the producer announced in a clip via his Instagram page that he is undergoing additional tests. With a bandage on his nose, he explained that he underwent two biopsies and that his doctor saw small patches that could be basal cell carcinoma.

The actor reassured fans, saying, “I’ll find out in two or three days, and as soon as I know, I’ll let you guys know.” Despite it being the least dangerous form of skin cancer, Jackman took the opportunity to reminding his fans of the importance of wearing sunscreen.

He urged everyone to prioritize sunscreen over tanning, noting it’s not worth it, pointing the tip of his nose and admitting his sunspots came from overexposure 25 years ago. The 54-year-old adds:

“Put on some sunscreen. You’ll still have an incredible time out there. In order. Please be careful.”

The theater star explained in his caption that he has been open about his skin cancer fears in the past, stating that it didn’t bother him as long as it served as a reminder for people to wear sunscreen.

Fans responded with nothing but love and encouragement for the Golden Globe Award winner, with one person writing: “Praying it’s nothing. Thank you for using your platform to help others. ❤️.”

He explained that he had never seen a drill like this, but that having it on set was crucial to the filming process.
