The son of US President Joe Biden is due to appear in federal court in Wilmington, Delaware on Wednesday on allegations of tax fraud and illegal gun ownership. After a five-year investigation into Hunter Biden, the president’s son pleaded guilty last week as part of an agreement with federal prosecutors.
Joe Biden’s 53-year-old son admitted Tuesday that he didn’t pay any federal income taxes in 2017 and 2018. Court documents show that the sum involved was the equivalent of around 180,000 euros. In a separate case, Biden admitted to briefly owning a revolver, although as a former drug addict he was forbidden from doing so.

The deal now concluded with the public prosecutor’s office is intended to prevent a court case. The 53-year-old should probably avoid a prison sentence with this. A judge still has to approve the agreement. The years of investigations into Biden have long since become a political issue.
