‘I Won’t Be the First’ – BBNaija’s Maria Chike finally addresses rumors of her affair with married men

Former roommate of Big Brother Naija, Maria Chike Benjaminhas addressed rumors of romantic affairs with married men and controversial minister Apostle Johnson Suleiman.

Gistlover recalls that in 2021, the famous bartender, Cubana ChiefPriest, called the reality TV star after he allegedly kidnapped Kelvin, his sister’s husband.

Also in 2022, Maria was among other female Nollywood stars and celebrities accused of having an affair with Apostle Suleiman.

In a recent interview, the BBNaija star said she’s not the first to be accused of dating married men, stressing that it’s a common trend when someone steps into the spotlight.

She further refuted the rumours, saying it was not in her place to discredit or credit such reports, adding that she owed no one an explanation.

She said: “Obviously there’s been a biased rumor about me, obviously I won’t be the first and it always happens when someone becomes famous. This rumor that came out in 2021, it’s not my place to discredit or give credit to, you know, I didn’t put it out at all and it doesn’t stand in my place because it’s going to touch a lot of private lives and it just doesn’t suit me to express myself. Besides, I don’t owe people an explanation.”

Maria added that she is not single but in a healthy relationship with someone she has been seeing for many years.

She said, “Oh! I’m not single I haven’t been single in a long time. I’m very much in a healthy relationship with a partner that I’ve been seeing for many years. He’s a great person in my life and encourages everything I do and he gives me peace. I’m just so grateful to God that I have him.”
