Nicole Scherzinger would like to reconnect with her Hawaiian heritage.

The 44-year-old singer was born in Honolulu, the capital of Hawaii, and Nicole has revealed that she is learning to perform a Hawaiian chant.
Nicole – best known for her starring role in The Pussycat Dolls – shared, “I’m going back to my Hawaiian roots, reconnecting with my elders and the elements by learning how to sing Hawaiian chants with my family sings.”
The “Right There” hitmaker is also interested in working with Bruno Mars, who was born in Honolulu in 1985.
Nicole believes that by joining forces, they “could create something beautiful.”
Speaking to Clara Amfo at the Magnum Boundless Creativity in Music panel in Cannes, Nicole revealed: “I would love to work with Bruno Mars. We’re both from Hawaii, so we were really able to draw on our shared heritage and create something beautiful.
“I believe it’s important not to limit yourself and I always try to push boundaries.”
Nicole revealed that she’s recently been working on new music and has teamed up with producer Naughty Boy, who has previously worked with the likes of Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran and Zayn Malik.
Discussing her next project, the pop star teased, “I worked with Naughty Boy in the studio.”
Nicole continues to be proud of her success with The Pussycat Dolls and the chart-topper is already looking forward to celebrating the 25th anniversary of their debut album, PCD, which they released in 2005.
When asked how she plans to celebrate the anniversary, Nicole replied, “I think women around the world should just sing it out loud. It’s dedicated to the women out there and it’s an encouraging message.”
The Cannes panel was hosted by Magnum to showcase the brand new song “JVKE – Golden Hour” which Magnum created using sun noise processed with Nasa’s data library in collaboration with TikTok superstar JVKE and data sonication expert Dr. Robert Alexander were created.
