Mineirão had everything. Category moments, good pass exchanges, balance, great defenses and confusion. But Fluminense’s decision-making power once again prevailed on the field. With goals from Ganso and Germán Cano, Tricolor das Laranjeiras defeated Cruzeiro by 2-0, this Wednesday, for the fifth round of the Brazilian Championship.
With the result, the tricolor team reached ten points and the G4 of the competition and is momentarily in third place. The Cruzeirenses, in turn, parked at nine points and in fifth place.
Fernando Diniz’s men will return to the field in the Brasileirão on Saturday (13) to face Cuiabá, in Maracanã, at 18:30. Coach Pepa’s team will play the classic against América-MG on Sunday (14), at Independência, at 6:30 pm.
TRICOLORES GO WITH EVERYTHING
Even playing away from home, Fluminense took the reins in the first half. After resorting to tables between Lima and Jhon Arias, the Laranjeiras team deposited the chips in attacks on the left. Marcelo hatted an opponent and filled his foot, scaring goalkeeper Rafael Cabral.
The tricolor crowd even celebrated a goal when Cano swerved and found Ganso free to swing the net. However, the goal was disallowed as the ball had gone out. Then, a high ball ended in a header by Marcelo, but the finish stopped meekly in the hands of the Cruzeiro goalkeeper.
HEAVENLY FENCE AND ALMOST MARK
After a start of the game in which he was restricted to defense, little by little Cruzeiro took off offensively. Pepa’s team had caused trouble in conclusions by Neto Moura and Gilberto. However, in the final minutes, the pressure became more intense. Bruno Rodrigues took advantage of Alexsander’s nap and tried to score through coverage, forcing Fábio to defend himself. Wesley also demanded the number 1 shirt.
But the most insidious chance came by air. After a corner kick, Luciano Castán went higher than the opponents and headed. While Fábio just watched, Germán Cano tested out.
WITH GOL CHORADO, FLUMINENSE LEAVES IN FRONT
Fluminense, however, maintained its tough posture. Rafael Cabral got in the way when he started playing and Germán Cano came up free. The number 14 gave a strong kick and forced the number 12 to fall to flatten. lime demanded
From so much cornering, Tricolor das Laranjeiras opened the scoring. Marcelo took a free kick into the area and Germán Cano took advantage of an opening to shoot. The submission was pressed by Marlon and stamped the post. In the spare, Lima tried and Luciano Castán rejected. Goose had the coolness to stuff the net.
CRUISE IN HIGH VOLTAGE, BUT TRICOLORES ‘DO OL IMMEDIATELY’
The fast pace took over Cruzeiro on the way back from the break. Neto Moura got rid of the marking and scared the tricolor defense. Then Mateus Vital demanded Fábio..
But Fluminense had a way to honor its offensive power. In an attack initiated by Ganso, Guga crossed and found Germán Cano free in the area. The number 14 shirt did not forgive.
FOX GOES TO FIGHT
Not even the disadvantage made Cruzeiro give up on the field. With the tricolors retracted, Pepa’s team found loopholes and endangered Wesley and Mateus Vital’s conclusions. Bruno Rodrigues still filled the foot, but the ball went wide of the goal.
PENALTY AND A LOT OF CONFUSION…
From the 29th minute, there was a shift in the game’s panorama. The referee scored a penalty for a push by Manoel on Henrique Dourado. Amid much tricolor complaint, midfielder André was expelled.
After three minutes, Bruno Rodrigues went for the ball and Fábio fell to defend. Referee Flávio Rodrigues de Souza, however, was instructed to order a new collection. Then, Henrique Dourado discussed with Bruno Rodrigues to define who would take the penalty. Bruno Rodrigues left and the ball hit the crossbar before going out.
FIGHT IN THE FIELD, MORE CONFUSION AND TRICOLOR VICTORY
After the scare, Tricolor das Laranjeiras tried to cool down, betting on Lelê as an escape valve. The attacker received a pass from Arias, but mishandled the ball. Lelê still looked for a new attack, but lost the ball to Oliveira. Cruzeiro continued to take risks with Mateus Vital and Daniel Júnior.
In a final stretch that became tense, with the right to a discussion between members of the two benches, the Fox continued to prowl the area. However, Fluminense, very well closed, managed to contain the opponent’s momentum and, after 14 minutes of added time, secured a 2-0 victory in the middle of Mineirão in a warm game.
