Is Isma Olaxes Dead?

Isma Olaxes, also known as Jaja Iculi and president of Ugandan bloggers, was shot and killed on Saturday night by an unknown gunman in Kyanja central zone at around 9:20 pm.  Isma was in the passenger seat of a vehicle when the gunman armed with an SMG opened fire, resulting in his fatal shooting. The motive for the killing is not yet known.

Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, stated that dedicated task teams are currently on the ground gathering evidence and conducting thorough investigations into the crime.

The area where the shooting occurred was the same location where State Minister for Labor, Employment and Industrial Relations, Col. Rtd Charles Okello Engola, was killed a few days prior by his bodyguard Private Wilson Sabiti. The authorities urge residents to remain calm and cooperate as they work towards swiftly resolving this incident.

Ibrahim Tusubira, also known as Isma Olaxes or Jaja Iculi, was a self-proclaimed vlogger, painter, and influencer who was the president of Ugandan bloggers.

On May 6, 2023, he was tragically shot dead by an unknown gunman in Kyanja central zone at around 9:20 pm, while he was seated in the passenger seat of a vehicle. The motive behind his killing is currently unknown, and the police are conducting thorough investigations into the matter.

Before the 2021 elections in Uganda, little was known about Olaxes until a video went viral in which he made violent remarks against opposition supporters, gaining notoriety.

He then joined the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party and campaigned for them, alongside several local celebrities, musicians, and politicians, including President Museveni and Parliament Speaker Anita Among, as per his social media posts.

After the elections, he reportedly focused on leveraging Uganda’s more than 14 million internet users. Despite being a childless freestyle bachelor, Olaxes was a well-known figure in the country’s online community.

Isma Olaxes Biography

Isma Olaxess, born in 1970, openly discussed his inability to have children. Despite being mocked by his detractors, Isma seemed unaffected until a recent church service where he discussed the topic.

He stated that despite his body functioning normally, doctors had informed him that he was infertile. Isma Olaxess was a prominent figure in Ugandan online political analysis and served as the President of the Uganda Bloggers Association, having been elected in 2021.

He returned to Uganda in 2015 after spending close to 10 years in Sweden where he moved in 2005 for better opportunities. Isma was shot near his home while driving his Toyota Drone car with registration number plate UBK 213D. The motive for the attack remains unknown.
