I’ve lost respect for Soyinka, he’s now an errand boy for criminal politicians – Charly Boy compares him to the late Chinua Achebe

Legendary Nigerian artist Charles Oputa, also known as Charly Boy or Area Fada, has recently expressed his displeasure with renowned playwright Wole Soyinka.

Charly Boy criticized him on his Instagram page for humiliating himself to serve corrupt politicians.

He said he always had great respect for him and compared him to the late Chinua Achebe and called it a damn shame.

But now he realizes that Soyinka will never be the same as Chinua Achebe.

“The kindred respect I had for this man was almost the respect I had for the late Judge CA Oputa, the Socrates of the Supreme Court. I finally realized that Soyinka can never be the man that Chinua Achebe was.

Look at a man many Nigerians place on such a high pedestal that it reduces himself to a boyiboyi to criminal politicians.

What a damn shame.”

Charly Boy recently reported on his battle with prostate cancer.

In a post on his Instagram page, the singer and activist shared his story of overcoming prostate cancer.

Charly Boy revealed he had been battling the disease for more than 10 days while posting a video of himself being wheeled out of the theater.

He believes that God has shown him the greatest favor by allowing him to survive.

He thanked God for sparing his life, thanked his family for their support and thanked the Nigerian surgeon.
