The ex-president, Jair Bolsonaro (PL), was left with another set of jewelry presented by Saudi authorities. According to information from the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo, revealed this Tuesday (28), the jewels were delivered on an official trip to Qatar and Saudi Arabia in October 2019 and are now in a shed. In this place, Bolsonaro keeps other items that he took with him when he left the presidency.
According to O Estado de S. Paulo, this gift includes: a Rolex watch, a silver Chopard pen, a pair of white gold cufflinks, with a diamond studded in the center; a ring in white gold with a diamond in the center and others in the shape of “baguette” around; and a masbaha (a type of Arabic rosary), made of white gold and with diamond-studded pendants.
The valuable goods received by the former president will be analyzed by the Federal Police (PF), according to g1.
Return of jewelry and weapons
Jair Bolsonaro delivered this Friday (24) the jewelry he received as a gift from Saudi Arabia in 2021 to Caixa Econômica Federal, in Brasília. The kit would include a watch, a pen, cufflinks, a ring and some kind of rosary, all from the Swiss diamond brand Chopard.
The TCU also ordered Bolsonaro to return the weapons he received as a gift from the United Arab Emirates. This Thursday (23), the former president told TV Record that he will return the equipment with “with heartache”. He also stated that he would pay, if possible, to keep the weapons, however, he will return them as decided by the Court.
