Stallone admitted it took a lot of thinking during those moments to realize that being available to his family should take precedence over any other commitments. TThe actor said:

“That’s when I realized again what is more valuable than anything else: my love for my family. It takes precedence over my work and that was a difficult lesson.”

Reflecting further on his marriage to Flavin, the father-of-four — including son Seargeoh, who he shares with ex-wife Sasha Czack — revealed he used to put Hollywood ahead of his personal life, even hinting that it was was slowly driving a wedge into their marriage and the relationship he had with their three children.

“I didn’t pay enough attention to them as a kid,” the ‘Tulsa King’ star ruefully told the publication. “I was so career focused and now I’m like, ‘Okay, I don’t have that much time left, and I want to start asking her about her life.”

On communicating with his daughters, Stallone added: “I ask them about their day and they started off a little monosyllabically at first. Then I heard someone say, “I was just thinking about you.” Oh dear God. I’ve never heard that in my life. When a daughter knows she’s being taken care of, she’s there forever.” ‘”
