Bellingham could be one of Europe’s most feared midfielders for many years to come
Madrid are edging closer to signing the English star who has also been chased by numerous Premier League clubs including Man City and Liverpool.
The 19-year-old’s father, Mark, met with LaLiga club officials in early May as they pitched their pitch to sign one of the most exciting talents in world football.
The outcome of that meeting left Real Madrid confident that they would strike a deal for him and Bellingham’s satisfaction with the contract proposals is a big step.
The midfielder was widely expected to make the next career move this summer despite having a contract with Dortmund until 2025.
The German club are likely to ask for a transfer fee in excess of £100m. That represents a sizeable return on the £20m they paid Birmingham City back in 2020.

Bellingham is getting ever closer to a move to Spain
Such a charge saw Liverpool out of the race while Madrid gave City a head start.
talkSPORT reckons Bellingham’s transfer will spark a midfield carousel in the Premier League this summer.
Liverpool have their sights set on the likes of Mason Mount and Alexis Mac Allister, while Chelsea have identified former Man City youngster Romeo Lavia as a top target.
Arsenal are interested in Declan Rice, who is also on the Chelsea and Manchester United shortlist. The Gunners could also reignite their interest in Moises Caicedo in the offseason.
