Earlier this year, it was announced that Julianne Hough would return to the “Dancing With the Stars” ballroom, replacing Tyra Banks as co-host of the reality competition show. Alfonso Ribeiro returns as co-moderator. It has also been confirmed that Hough’s brother Derek Hough will return to the judges’ table alongside Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli.

Shortly after the news broke, the professional dancer and future co-host opened up about how excited she is to be back in the ballroom.

“It’s a great honor to be back as a co-host on ‘Dancing with the Stars,'” Hough told Variety when the news broke. “The show holds such a special place in my heart because of the many years and different roles I’ve had the privilege of being a part of. My family is the incredible team that has brought the ballroom to life every night for the past 17 years. I’m really looking forward to reuniting with Alfonso, Carrie Ann, Bruno, Derek, the incredibly talented professionals and the amazing cast on the dance floor.”

“The energy is magnetic every time you step into the ballroom and I can’t wait to feel it again – and of course to share it all with the absolute best and most loyal fans – for another exciting season,” she went on to say .

She later dubbed it a moment of coming full circle, saying: “Well, honestly, going full circle going from a dancer to a judge and now co-hosting with Alfonso. It is wonderful.
