Mateo Kovacic has confirmed that he will look for new airs in the next European season and is leaving Chelsea. During a press conference given by the player himself, this Wednesday (7), the 29-year-old midfielder said he should not complete his contract with the Blues, which ends only in June 2024. The expectation is that Manchester City will be the new Croatian fate.
At the same time, Chelsea’s poor season, which did not qualify for any European competition, weighed in on Kovacic’s departure. Thus, the steering wheel seems to be leaving the London club after five years.
“I have one more year on my contract, this season has been very bad and everything indicates that, five years later, I’ll change my mind. But we’ll see what happens. At this point I’m just focused on Croatia and the League of Nations”, said the steering wheel.
“Manchester City? It’s a top team and deserves to be in the Champions League final. That’s all I have to say. The market is very long. But, I’ll keep the best memories of Chelsea”, completed the player about the next step of your career.
Kovacic was signed by Chelsea in 2018 from Real Madrid. Among the Croatian’s main achievements with the Blues shirt is the Champions title in the 2020/21 season, over Manchester City itself, seen as the Croatian’s likely destination.
