Letecia Stauch sent to prison after murder of 11-year-old stepson Gannon Stauch – Crime Online

Letecia Stauch was sent to prison after her 11-year-old stepson, Gannon Stauch, was convicted of murder.

Stauch was taken to the Denver Women’s Correctional Facility Friday morning after being transferred from the El Paso County Jail where she was held for the past three years. Stauch is now serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Stauch stabbed, punched, shot and killed Gannon at the family’s Fountain home in January 2020. She then went to great lengths to cover up her crimes, framing numerous imaginary persons and driving to Florida, where she dumped Gannon’s corpse, stuffed in a suitcase, over a bridge in Pace.

Prosecutors said Letecia Stauch was upset about her marriage and was burdened with caring for her stepchildren, according to searches on her phone. Gannon’s father was working in the US National Guard, leaving Letecia Stauch to look after Gannon and his younger sister when the murder occurred.

Stauch asked to be held at San Carlos Prison in Pueblo after her conviction, but a judge told her it wasn’t his fault and even then he wouldn’t make a recommendation.
