Madonna first thought of her children when she woke up in the hospital. The recording artist took to Instagram last week after reports of her admission to the ICU went viral.

“Thank you for your positive energy, prayers and words of healing and encouragement,” Madonna wrote to her Instagram fans. “I felt your love,” she added. “I am on the road to recovery and incredibly grateful for all the blessings in my life.”

Madonna was reportedly admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) last month after developing a bacterial infection. Due to her illness, the singer had to postpone her tour, Madonna’s Celebration Tour.

“My first thought when I woke up in the hospital was my kids,” the celebrity mom told her social media fans. “My second thought was that I didn’t want to disappoint anyone who bought tickets for my tour,” Madonna added.

“I also didn’t want to let down the people who have worked tirelessly with me to create my show over the past few months,” the singer revealed. “I hate disappointing anyone.”

Madonna has been an artist at heart for decades. The singer passed on her knowledge of the entertainment industry to her children. Madonna’s youngest son David has followed in his mother’s footsteps. The singer’s son attends art school and has already put on performances that Madonna thought were Oscar-worthy.

“You have some talented kids,” one fan said of David and his siblings after watching a video of them singing and dancing at home. “Great voice,” said another supporter after hearing David sing.

Madonna is on the mend after her hospitalization but plans to return better than ever. “My focus now is on my health and getting stronger,” the singer shared with her supporters last week. “I assure you, I will be with you as soon as possible!”
