Magnitude 4.8 earthquake hits Calabria coast, Italy

An earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale was recorded at 4:41 am (local time) off the northwest coast of Calabria, Italy. No damage to people or homes was reported.

The epicenter of the tremor occurred at the bottom of the sea, about 20 kilometers from the towns of Paola and Cetraro, at a depth of 266 kilometers, according to data from the National Institute of Geology and Volcanology (INGV).

The Civil Protection said it had carried out checks, but there were no more dangers for residents. .
