Marçal, from Botafogo, leaves Nilton Santos with a limp after suffering an injury in the Copa do Brasil

Marçal felt pain in his right knee after a dispute with Vítor Roque and had to be substituted in the first half between Botafogo and Athletico-PR, this Wednesday. Alvinegro won 1-0 in regular time, but ended up being eliminated from the Copa do Brasil on penalties by Hurricane.

Due to the side injury, Hugo had to enter the field and played for a good part of the match. The number 21 left Nilton Santos with a limp and will be evaluated by the club’s medical department to find out the seriousness of the injury.

The side must carry out tests later this week to be able to make a return projection to the lawns. The player is captain and one of the leaders of the alvinegro squad.

Marçal is doubtful for Glorioso’s next match. Luís Castro’s team takes the field next Saturday, against Athletico-PR, at 6:30 pm, at Arena da Baixada, for the Brasileirão.
