Striker Mario Djordic scored 19 goals and shared sixth place with Schwerin’s winger Nico Chrobok for FC Castrop-Rauxel in the 2022/23 season. This made Djordic FC’s most accurate player. But in the coming season, the attacker will not appear for the club of President Uwe Blase. “The chapter is over. I had a nice 18 months and we parted on good terms,” says Mario Djordic.

So far, the 34-year-old has not found a new club for the 2023/24 season. However, the attacker remains calm. “I’m currently enjoying the football-free time. I am building a house with my wife. But I’m also interested in hanging on for another year or two,” says Djordic.
The fact that Mario Djordic does not yet have a new club is not due to the requests from clubs, he says. “I have inquiries from the district league to the state league. I’m currently keeping fit. I haven’t said anything yet,” said the striker. In view of his age of 34, however, the end of his career is not entirely out of the question.
“I have all the options in my head,” says Mario Djordic. Castrop-Rauxel clubs are also vying for the striker’s services, he reveals. Since Djordic, who comes from Witten, is currently building a house in Merklinde with his wife, a move to a Castrop-Rauxeler club would also be obvious.

After three and a half years at FC Frohlinde and the past year and a half at FC Castrop-Rauxel, it would be Mario Djordic’s third football stop in the European city.
