Morgan Wallen Cancels Ole Miss Show After Losing His Voice

OXFORD, miss. – Thousands of country fans were waiting for singer Morgan Wallen when he suddenly canceled his performance at Vaught Hemingway Stadium on Sunday night.

WTVA-TV reported that video boards at Ole Miss Football Stadium showed a message stating that the “Thought You Should Know” singer had lost his voice and was unable to perform, adding that people are refunding their money there would get from where they bought the tickets.

Some people took to social media to express their anger because the cancellation announcement came after the opening acts had performed.

Despite being one of country music’s biggest stars, Wallen is no stranger to controversy. He was caught on camera outside a home in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2021, shouting profanity and a racial slur. He apologized at the time, but was indefinitely suspended from his label and his music was grabbed by radio stations and streaming services.

The year before, Wallen was arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct after being thrown out of a downtown Nashville bar.

The sudden cancellation ended two straight nights of performances by one of country music’s hottest stars. Saturday night’s show appeared to be a huge success, with thousands turning out for the first concert in the stadium’s history.
