NeNe Leakes’ son faces drug possession charges

Legendary Real Housewives of Atlanta grad NeNe Leakes is grappling with family drama surrounding her eldest son, Bryson Bryant.

Earlier this month, officers found drugs on Bryant, leading to his arrest and a drug possession charge.

Although he was later released, he was arrested again after posing as his younger half-brother, Brentt Leakes, whom NeNe had with the late Gregg Leakes.

According to court documentsThe TV icon’s son has been arrested for criminal possession of fentanyl, a Schedule II substance. The crime is said to have occurred around 1 a.m. in Lawrenceville, Georgia. In addition, the accused was charged with an administrative offense, in particular with “loitering”.

According to a police statement, Bryant was staying at the named address, “evading the police and claiming that he knew the people who lived in the apartment, which was false”.

During questioning, he was asked his name, which he lied to police, telling him it was Brentt, his younger brother. For this reason, the name of the 24-year-old is in the first reports on this case. Meanwhile, jail records showed that Bryant was transferred to the Gwinnett County Jail at around 2:36 a.m., despite being on the booking list under Brentt’s name.

The 33-year-old also gave officials a false address when booking, giving the name of a house his mother sold years ago. Bail was set at $5,900 and Bryant was released at 12:20 p.m. Unfortunately for the accused, he was rearrested and is now in prison with other charges added to his crimes. Based on newly filed documents obtained by Radar Online, which list the defendant as “Bryson Rashad Bryant” with a date of birth of “12/26/1989,” prosecutors made an allegation of “giving a false name, address or date of birth to a police officer.”

Bryant is no stranger to breaking the law, having also been charged with a parole violation in another case. He will appear in court later this month. This is the second family drama that NeNe would experience with her sons.

A few months ago, Brentt tried to go viral on TikTok with a message implying he may be gay while completing a challenge in which he throws a crumpled paper in a trash can. The video, captioned “If I Miss, I’m Gay,” sparked speculation from fans about the entrepreneur’s sexuality.

As a result, his famous mother also had something to say about the clip, although she initially had no idea.

NeNe was clear on morning show The Breakfast Club, claiming her son wasn’t gay and just “made some popular TikTok trend.” She added that while he hasn’t “outed himself,” she’s perfectly fine with him if he’s gay, provided he’s happy.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta original star’s personal life has made headlines, especially things involving her son. Bryant’s run-in with the law comes months after her second child suffered a heart attack and stroke last year. He was rushed to the hospital at the time and had to stay there for months.

He’s really young for something like that to happen to him.” NeNe declined to elaborate on what happened, how she found out, or what condition he was in at the time. Eventually her son got better and she documented every step he took towards full recovery.

NeNe couldn’t get over her son’s miraculous recovery from a stroke and heart attack last year as she reflected on his health journey in a series of Instagram Stories two months later posts.

One of the posts was captioned: “My son [sic] Life has changed,” and she added the date of the transformation: “May 26th. September.”

In a second video update, the reality star’s son was filmed looking healthy walking towards her in the hospital corridor while clapping in the background.

In a subsequent post, Brentt was seen strolling unaided to the hospital’s elevator, which NeNe noted with excitement while also thanking God for the miracle. Another story post confirmed her son “walked and talked” before proclaiming “nothing but god” in another photo, in which she looked down at an unconscious Brentt who was lying on a hospital bed with wires attached.
