Nick Cannon is proving his memory is still intact as he remembers his daughter Onyx Ice Cole Cannon on her first birthday months after forgetting her name.
Earlier in April, the father-of-twelve who shares Onyx with LaNisha Cole failed to recall the tot when mentioning all his other kids’ names during a radio show interview.
Now, he is giving her all his attention as she clocked one by celebrating her with a special treat in the magical Disneyland, which he detailed on social media.
Nick Cannon Documents His Day Out With Onyx In Disneyland
On Thursday, September 14, 2022, Nick took his little girl to Disneyland, where they spent quality time bonding, as seen in an entertaining video on the comedian’s Instagram.
The video featuring a text overlay that read, “Onyx’s 1st Birthday At Disneyland,” showed the two at the ticket stand before heading to a Minnie Mouse play station.
At the station, Onyx changed to a red and white outfit similar to the cartoon character’s. She was also seen with her dad hanging out with a life-sized version of Mickey Mouse. More scenes then showed the pair having fun with the Disney princesses, after which the clip ended with multiple snapshots of the duo with Mickey and Minnie Mouse.
“Today is Onyx’s 1st birthday & we’re having a blast at Disneyland!” Nick exclaimed in the caption, tagging the recreation brand and adding multiple birthday-themed emojis.
Many wished the birthday girl well in the comments section, including one of the “Drumline” actor’s baby mammas, Abby De La Rosa, who penned, “Happy birthday to the one and only ONYX 💐✨.”
A second fan followed with, “Happy Birthday, baby girl….no lie, this kid looks the most like Nick. It’s hard to see in the rest of his children, but they came thru on her. 😍.”
Similarly, one declared, “Oh. Em. Gee! Out of the Cannon’s dozen, she looks the most like you!! Happy bEarthday gorgeous girl!” A fourth comment read, “One of my faves Cannon babies. I follow the Mom too. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ONYX. Always smiling,” while another stated, “Happy Birthday Onyx!! We love you ❤️❤️.”
Nick did not stop there with his tribute as he headed to his Story with a throwback photo of himself in a hospital cutting Onyx’s umbilical cord upon her birth.
Onyx was also celebrated by her ever-loving mother, who wrote an emotional message on Instagram honoring the little one’s birth. “And just like that, my baby is a year old!! Onyx.. you are the joy of my life. You light up my life in ways I never imagined,” Cole’s tribute read.
She further admitted how “surreal” it felt to see her baby grow before showering her with more compliments, calling her “the sweetest, funniest, and the strongest little girl I know. “
Alongside the beautiful words was a mashup video of her and her daughter’s intimate moments since birth, including glimpses of them spending time with loved ones, including her parents and her partner, Brian Paul Kuba.
Kuba also joined in the celebration as he took to the post’s comments section with a heartfelt declaration that partly read, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🎁🎂 to the most beautiful baby in the entire Universe.”
The ‘Roll Bounce’ Star Skipped His Daughter, Onyx, While Naming All His Children
About five months ago, when Nick forgot Onyx’s name, he appeared on Howard Stern’s radio show where he proudly listed his kids’ names from memory. He named them accordingly, beginning with his twins with Mariah Carey but was interrupted upon mentioning Rise, his son with Brittany Bell.
At that point, Stern told the TV star that he had “missed” an offspring’s name, but Nick was confused, resulting in the radio host pointing out Onyx.
Although the “America’s Got Talent” host was surprised, he joked about it and noted that he was “in trouble.” Speaking of trouble, a month following the interview, Nick was accused of showing fake love to Onyx upon sharing throwback pictures of the tot.
The images were spa-inspired and showed the baby lounging on a gray mini cushion, rocking a white bathrobe with a matching white towel around her head. She then completed her look with tiny Gucci slippers.
Despite how cute the snaps appeared, several fans immediately slammed Nick, with one critic stressing, “This is not a recent pic of Onyx.” Another opined, “Oh, this the baby name he forgot. Now he wanna post her.”
