One True Loves’ Phillipa Soo and Luke Bracey on the ups and downs of filming their romantic drama

Do you think Jesse and Emma would have stayed together if they had been together?

bracket: Yes.

soo: I don’t know. I think the answer is that we don’t necessarily know. The chances are very high that they would have ended up together, but we’ve talked a lot about love and what it all means, and is there a true love, and the thing that we keep coming back to is that you have it to choose every day. As we know, we are all flawed. We are human beings. Things happen; life happens. Whether it’s stranded on a desert island or just you [growing] Besides that, things happen. I would like to believe that they would be together.

bracket: I think that would have been them. I’m thinking from Jesse’s perspective, right?

soo: Total.

bracket: He knew Emma was the one for him and he would have been the type to work on it every day. I know that. He’s a truly admirable character, Jesse, and he would have loved nothing more than to be with Emma for the rest of his life.

soo: If only he hadn’t climbed into that helicopter.

bracket: That damn helicopter.
