The number of in Baden-Württemberg has risen sharply since 2013
In the past ten years, the number of e-cars registered in Baden-Württemberg has increased significantly. As reported by the Baden-Württemberg State Statistical Office based on figures from the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) and its own calculations, the number of registered passenger cars with electric drives in Baden-Württemberg increased from 54,250 in 2021 to 105,964 vehicles in 2022.
This corresponds to an increase of almost 95%. In comparison, the stock of electric cars in 2013 was only 1,377 vehicles.
The number of new registrations of e-cars (cars with electric drive) is constantly increasing
A total of 71,328 e-cars were newly registered in 2022, which means that the number of new registrations was 21% higher than in 2021.
Most of the registered e-cars in Baden-Württemberg are located in the state capital of Stuttgart.
A total of 8,397 vehicles were registered here as of January 1, 2022, which roughly corresponds to a vehicle density of 13 electric cars per 1,000 inhabitants.
The district of Böblingen had the highest density of e-cars, with almost 17 cars with electric drives per 1,000 inhabitants.
