Mia Goth’s schedule is quite busy right now as she will be behind the camera for the third film in the “X” series, “MaXXXine”, and will travel to Atlanta in June to film “Blade”.
Marvel’s Blade, starring Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali, will be Daywalker’s feature-length debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Announced at San Diego Comic-Con in 2019, it will be the first film to star the vampire hunter since 2004’s Blade: Trinity, when the character was memorably played by Wesley Snipes.
In 2021, it was announced that “Blade” would be written by Stacy Osei-Kuffour of the HBO TV series “Watchmen” and directed by Bassam Tariq. Unfortunately, there were several delays in production, giving the screenwriter additional time to perfect the script. Ultimately, these schedule shifts resulted in Tariq’s departure in September 2022, resulting in production being shelved while the studio searched for a new director. Luckily, fans would be delighted if Yann Demange, of HBO’s Lovecraft Country fame, saved the film and signed on to direct it in November 2022.
Marvel’s Blade will begin production in May 2023 and hit theaters on September 4, 2024.
