Pepper’s Senior Dog Sanctuary is opening its doors to non-adoptable friends

LITTLETON, Colorado – Animal shelters are the least likely places to adopt senior dogs, but at Pepper’s Senior Dog Sanctuary, the older friends are the stars.

The Littleton Dog Shelter opened its doors just a few weeks after co-founder Justin Klemer and his family spent four years raising funds to build a long-term home for unadoptable dogs.

The journey began when his mother, Mary, adopted an older dog named Pepper (hence the name).

“Pepper was a dog who came into my mom’s life when he really needed her and she really needed him,” Justin said while giving us a tour with his cousin and co-founder Leigh Sullivan. “He and so many other dogs really are the inspiration for what we do here.”

In the story above, you can explore this amazing facility with your best friends and learn more about their journey to create this utopia.

There are many ministries and activities that I haven’t had time to cover in the story, such as: B. Volunteering, field trips for seniors and people with autism and a soon to open on-site veterinary service center. More information can be found here.
