Portuguesa overcomes Portuguesa Santista and assumes leadership of Group C of the Copa Paulista

In the direct confrontation for the leadership of Group C of the Copa Paulista, between Portuguesa and Portuguesa Santista, the one in the state capital won. Lusa scored in the first half with Luiz Felipe and defeated Briosa by 1-0 in a duel valid for the fourth round of the first phase of the competition.

With the victory, Portuguesa reached 10 points and took the first place in the Group, precisely surpassing its opponent this Saturday, who ended the round in second place with 9. Lusa, the only undefeated team in the group, with three wins in four games, returns to the field on Friday, to face São Caetano, at Anacleto Campanella Stadium.

Portuguesa Santista, who lost for the first time in this edition of the Copa Paulista, will have the opportunity to try to regain the lead in the next round, when they will face São Bernardo, at Ulrico Mursa Stadium, next Sunday.

The only goal of the match came in the 9th minute of the first half. Lucas Paraizo received the ball at the edge of the area and fought to keep the ball between three defenders. Despite not being successful, the remainder fell on Luiz Felipe’s foot. The number 10 took the first shot from outside the area and hit the vein, a beautiful hit placed in the left corner to lead Portuguesa to victory.
